Steve Sanham

Chair of Trustees

Steve grew up in Hampstead in North London, but spent large amounts of his formative years in Brighton where his grandparents lived. Aged 30 he finally moved to Brighton full time. He first became involved with A Band of Brothers when he joined a Beyond the Hero weekend in 2013 as part of the Brighton community. He then went on to mentor a young man in Brighton. He has stayed involved over the years staffing the occasional weekend, and became a Trustee in 2018.

Steve has worked in residential and mixed use property development since 2003, having most recently been Managing Director of a successful London based residential developer. In 2019 he finished building a house for his family (wife, 18 month old son and 19 year old stepson) near Crawley, and took the opportunity to step down from his day job and reassess. A natural born disruptor, he is now involving himself with real estate projects which will deliver real and meaningful social value, working with and strengthening existing communities.

As a Trustee, Steve brings commercial and business acumen, particularly with respect to the charity’s medium term goal of establishing a permanent rights of passage centre. He also brings a deep understanding and respect for mens’ work and a desire to develop himself personally so that he can be in service to his community and family.
