Band of Brothers put dad on straight and narrow

A DAD who admits he cannot understand how he avoided going to prison after dozens of convictions has transformed his life and now dreams of opening a business to benefit families across Crawley.
Stephen Raikes racked up 33 convictions and 19 court appearances for a string of crimes ranging from shoplifting to assault. The birth of his two young children was the first step to helping him realise he needed to change his lifestyle but the individuals who finally got through to him belong to a charity called A Band Of Brothers.
The 20-year-old last week completed the latest Band Of Brothers course in Crawley, where mentors give support to young men who need to be brought back onto the straight and narrow.
